Numerical Study and Economy Analysis of Two Heated Crude Oil Pipelines Laid in One Ditch

In this paper, the transportation economy of two heated crude oil pipelines laid in one ditch is analyzed by taking into account influence operating temperature, interval between pipelines, and distance heating stations on energy consumption. To analyze economy, are simulated under four conditions based an unstructured finite volume method. Compared with laying separately ditches, results attest notably higher soil meaning reduced heat dissipation each pipeline ditch. It inferred that for same desired temperature at inlet next station, requires lower outlet indicating decreased cost station improved economy. Then analysis configurations performed. By comparing conditions, 1.2 m found to save most efficiently, which as large 26.6% compared separate ditches. addition, narrowing extending beneficial energy.
